Pope Leo visits Vatican Radio’s shortwave Radio Center

Pope Leo XIV has visited the Vatican Radio’s shortwave Radio Center in Santa Maria di Galeria, where he emphasized the importance of shortwave broadcasts.


‎He traveled out of Rome’s city center in the morning, according to a post on the Vatican Social media handle.


‎During his visit, the Pope recalled the days of his missionary work in Latin America and Africa, saying that it was invaluable to receive shortwave broadcasts from Vatican Radio as it reaches places where few other stations can.


‎He also reaffirmed the missionary importance of communication.


‎The Pope,  thanked the people for the service they rendered at the station—even on holidays such as the Feast of Corpus Christi, being celebrated on the day of the visit.


‎Pope Leo XIV took out time to bless everyone present before leaving.
