In a passionate appeal to employers across the state, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has urged them not to turn away corps members posted to their establishments, emphasizing the critical need to provide a supportive and conducive environment for their national service.
The call came during the terminal parade and grand closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch C, Stream One orientation course at the permanent NYSC Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku. Represented at the event by the Commissioner for Special Projects, Chief Funyei Manager, Governor Oborevwori highlighted the pivotal role of employers in maximizing the impact of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
“The scheme achieves its greatest impact when employers welcome corps members and create an environment that allows them to serve selflessly,” the Governor stressed.
Addressing the corps members, he urged them to approach their service year with unwavering commitment and patriotism, noting that the entrepreneurial skills and training they received during orientation had equipped them for success in today’s competitive labor market.
Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to the NYSC program, Governor Oborevwori pledged continued efforts to upgrade the Issele-Uku orientation camp to world-class standards, ensuring that future batches experience first-class facilities and a nurturing environment. NIM
