Emmanuel Myam, a Nigerian cyclist popularly known as Emmiwuks, who set off on a solo bicycle journey from Lagos to the United States of America (USA), has arrived Cotonou.
The 25-year-old indigene of Benue state, who gained fame in 2022 for cycling from Makurdi to Lagos to meet music star Davido, officially began his journey on Tuesday, taking off from the Lagos State University (LASU) gate.
Myam said the trip was one of “purpose, passion, and unshakable belief” as it was aimed at raising awareness and support for orphaned and displaced children affected by conflicts across africa.
He is expected to cycle through regions like the Sahara Desert and conflict zones in Africa, and ship the bike across the Atlantic, as there is no continuous land connection between Nigeria and the U.S due to the Atlantic Ocean.
Myam would continue to north through Central America.
