… As Leaders Unite to Inaugurate Anioma State Creation Technical Committee

‎As the push for the creation of Anioma State intensifies,  the Anioma State Creation Technical Committee has been inaugurated in Asaba, the Delta State Capital.

‎The Committee has the Asagba of Asaba,  Prof.  Epiphany Azinge as Chairman,  the Dein of Agbor, Keagborekuzi I,  as Co-Chairman, the Ezemu of Emu kingdom, HRM Obuenwe Johnson Ekpechi, Vice Chairman.

‎The members comprised all traditional rulers, and Council Chairmen in Anioma nation, some past and serving political leaders in Anioma region, including the member representing Oshimili Federal Constituency, Hon.  Ngozi Okolie, former Deputy Governor of the state,  Chief Benjamin Elue, Chief Alanza Uche Ugboma, the Onishe of Ubulu-Uku, Chief Emmanuel Ejiofor, the Omu Ahaba, Obi Ada Biosah, representatives of the media, Youth groups, legal, President General of communities and Anioma Social groups, as well as the representative of the Igbanke people.

In a keynote address titled “the Road to Anioma State; Prospects and Challenges which was presented at the Ogwa Uku, Ahaba, the Senator representing Delta North,  Prince Ned Nwoko said Anioma State creation was achievable and had great prospects for the Anioma people.

‎Senator Nwoko said Anioma State creation is a process, and the inauguration of the committee was part of the process,  adding that when a new state  is created for the Anioma people, it would serve as a  catalyst for economic growth, more political representation and all-inclusive socio-economic transformation of the Anioma area.

‎He made an appeal that Anioma State creation should not be politicised as it had a lot to do with the destiny and future of the people.

‎The Senator called on leaders at all levels and indigenes of Anioma nation, to put away sentiments and whatever misgivings they may have had,  and take advantage of the viable prospects in the creation of Anioma State, noting that their cooperation and support was vital for the actualization of the vision.

‎The Asagba of Asaba and Chairman of the Anioma State Creation Technical Committee, Professor Epiphany Azinge, while speaking earlier said the event provided another opportunity for  the people to  speak in one voice for the creation of Anioma state.

‎He urged the gathering to stay united irrespective of political, religious and ethnic inclinations to realise the age-long clamour for Anioma state.

‎In an interview,  some members of the committee including the Traditional ruler of Ubulu Unor, and 2nd Vice Chairman, Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, Obi Henry Afamefuna Kikachukwu PHD, Comrade Marcus Enudi, Chief Chukwudi Odelle, and Ambassador Ushi Isreal, described Senator Nwoko as an extra ordinary politician who understood the needs of the people.

‎They noted that the inauguration of the committee  would help forge a more united front in achieving the set goal.

‎The newly inaugurated committee members later swore to the relevant oaths administered by Azuka Paul Maduemezie Esq. among other activities.
