Leadership Crisis; Delta Govt Dissolves Saniko Community Election Committee.

Delta State Government has dissolved the electoral committee established for the Saniko Community leadership election in Agbara-Otor, Ughelli North Local Government Area.
This announcement came from the Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor, who stated that the action became necessary after the leadership election plunged the community into tension, following claims by some members that they were unjustly disqualified.

Chief Uzor confirmed that all sides had acknowledged the end of the tenure of the former administration led by Comrade Friday Akajagbor, resulting in the council of elders assuming interim control.
He emphasized that Saniko Community—made up of the Owevwe and Opherin quarters—had enjoyed decades of harmonious coexistence, and warned residents not to allow disputes over oil and revenue to fracture the longstanding peace.

The Special Adviser urged every faction to remain calm and united, assuring them that the State Government would review their grievances and reconvene all parties soon to restore lasting stability.

Earlier, several community members recounted their ordeals and pressed the government to intervene without delay to bring peace and order back to Saniko Community.
