. The management and staff of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has congratulated the Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, on his election as Vice Charman of the International Telecommunication Union ITU Council 2025
They described the appointment as historic, saying it was the first for Nigeria in nearly 50 years
The agency said It was a testament to Dr. Tijan’s exceptional leadership and Nigeria’s growing influence in shaping the global digital landscape.
They expressed optimism that his commitment to digital transformation, aligning with His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR’s Renewed Hope Agenda, will strengthen Nigeria’s position on the international stage.
NITDA reiterated it’s readiness to offer its full support and collaboration as he embarks on international responsibility, adding that the agency were proud of the achievement.
The agency said they looked forward to continuing to work closely with him to achieve their shared goals for a digitally empowered Nigeria.
Dr. Tijani’s election was announced following a vote of confidence by ITU Member States accompanied by support from the international digital community.
