The Director-General of the Delta State Traffic Management Authority (DESTMA), Hon. Dr. Benjamin Essien Okiemute NN (Rtd.), has warned applicants participating in the agency’s ongoing recruitment exercise against falling victim to fraudsters demanding money for employment slots.
The warning comes as the recruitment exercise, which commenced on Monday, August 10, 2026, gets underway following a directive by the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori.
Okiemute, who described the recruitment process as transparent and merit-based, said no DESTMA official or individual had been authorised to sell employment slots or collect money from applicants in exchange for jobs.
He urged prospective applicants to disregard anyone claiming to have access to recruitment slots or promising employment in return for payment.
The DESTMA boss advised applicants to rely solely on the authority’s official recruitment channels and follow the stipulated application guidelines.
Applicants seeking to participate in the exercise are directed to apply through the official DESTMA website: www.destma.ng.
He further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspected recruitment scams to the appropriate authorities.
DESTMA reiterated that employment slots are not for sale and applicants should not pay anyone to secure a position.
