AGBOR, Delta State — Construction has officially started on the long-awaited Uromi Junction Flyover in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, with heavy-duty equipment now on site.
The project is being executed by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, one of the country’s top construction firms.
In a statement Wednesday, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, described the flyover as a “massive infrastructure project” set to ease traffic congestion, enhance the city’s aesthetics, and boost commerce in the region.
Dr. Oghenesivbe praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as a “promise-keeper” committed to infrastructure-led economic growth and expressed confidence that Julius Berger would deliver the project to the highest standards and within record time.
The Uromi Junction, a key transportation hub, has long suffered from severe traffic congestion, hindering vehicular movement. Residents have been urged to cooperate with the contractor and protect construction materials to ensure timely completion.
