DOMA, Nasarawa State — The Corps Commander, Nigerian Army Supply and Transport (NAST), Major General Nansak Danjuma Shagaya, has commended the 4 Special Forces (SF) Command for its outstanding contributions to Nigerian Army operational successes across multiple theatres of operation.
Major General Shagaya gave the commendation during a familiarization visit to the Headquarters of the 4 Special Forces Command in Doma, Nasarawa State, where he praised the Command’s unwavering commitment and notable exploits in support of national security operations.
Speaking during the visit, the Corps Commander reaffirmed the mission of the Nigerian Army Supply and Transport Corps, which he described as developing a highly proficient and responsive logistics force capable of effectively supporting the Nigerian Army in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities. He assured the Command of continued support, particularly in enhancing its lift capability, while also providing other ancillary logistics services as operational demands evolve.
Major General Shagaya further lauded the 4 Special Forces Command for its professionalism and resilience, noting that its operational effectiveness has significantly contributed to ongoing military efforts nationwide.
In his response, the Commander 4 Special Forces Command, Major General Olurotimi Azubuike Awolo, expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as historic. He noted that it was the first time the Command was hosting a serving Corps Commander since his assumption of office.
General Awolo highlighted the critical role played by the Supply and Transport Brigade (ST Bde) in supporting both the operational and administrative activities of the Command. He disclosed that, in a bid to strengthen collaboration and enhance capacity, the Command recently inaugurated a Driving Course for soldiers. The course, coordinated by the 79 Supply and Transport Brigade, is designed to improve driving proficiency among personnel drawn from formations and units within the Command.
He assured that the 4 Special Forces Command remains committed to professionalism, discipline, and operational excellence in line with the Command Philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff.
The visit featured a briefing at the Headquarters of the 79 Supply and Transport Brigade, where Major General Shagaya was received by the Acting Commander, Colonel Boniface Edibo. Other highlights included a guided tour of facilities within the cantonment and the presentation of souvenirs.
