The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has presented certificates of recognition to Traditional Rulers of four communities – Ikenga, Ọba, Ifite, Anam and Ichi.
The certificates were presented to the traditional rulers, Igwe Chinonso Ezeokafor of Ikenga, Igwe Austine Chinedum Emelobe of Oba, Igwe Sunday Ozoemena of Ifite Anam and Igwe Ifeanyi Okonkwo of Ichi, at the Light House, Awka, the state capital.
Governor Soludo charged them to work in tandem with their respective town constitutions and to function as the conscience of their communities.
He encouraged the traditional rulers to support the effort of his government aimed at drumming the crusade of ethical and value rebirth.
The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Honourable Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, who spoke earlier, thanked the Governor for his developmental efforts in the respective Anambra communities, through the Ministry.
Responding on behalf of others, the traditional ruler of Ifite Anam, Igwe Sunday Ozoemena thanked the Governor for his efforts, especially in reforming the Traditional Rulers Council
The event was attended by Members of the State Executive Council, Chairman, Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, among others.
