Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, representing Delta South Senatorial District, has congratulated the Agadiwie of the Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, High Chief Michael Preye Johnny, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.
In a statement marking the celebration, the senator described High Chief Johnny as a respected leader whose contributions to the political and socio-cultural development of the Gbaramatu Kingdom and the Ijaw nation have earned him admiration across Delta South.
According to Joel-Onowakpo, High Chief Johnny has continued to play a significant role in promoting peace, unity and community development, while also preserving the cultural values and traditions of the Gbaramatu Kingdom.
The senator, who chairs the Senate Committee on Local Content, also commended the celebrant for his dedication to the welfare of his people and his support for initiatives aimed at advancing the interests of the Ijaw nation.
He further acknowledged what he described as the cordial relationship they have built over the years, noting that High Chief Johnny’s encouragement and contributions have been valuable in their shared commitment to the progress of Delta South.
The lawmaker prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health, wisdom and long life for the traditional leader as he marks another year.
Senator Joel-Onowakpo also wished the Agadiwie many more years of impactful service, expressing optimism that his leadership would continue to foster development and strengthen unity within the Gbaramatu Kingdom and beyond.
