Students of Glorious Kids College, Asaba, have stepped beyond the classroom into the world of media production as they embarked on an educational excursion to the Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Asaba, gaining firsthand exposure to how television and radio content is created and transmitted.
The visit offered the young learners a rare opportunity to experience the inner workings of a broadcast station, as they were guided through key operational areas including the television studio, radio studio, master control room and transmitter section.
Rather than learning media concepts from textbooks alone, the students observed live demonstrations of programme production and transmission processes, giving them practical insight into how information is delivered to audiences across Delta State and beyond.
Teachers accompanying the group described the excursion as a deliberate academic intervention aimed at bridging classroom learning with real-world experience.
According to one of the educators, Mrs Clara Magbor, the initiative was designed to expose students early to career possibilities in broadcasting and other media-related fields, while also strengthening their understanding of communication and technology.
She noted that the school remains committed to raising well-rounded learners equipped with both academic knowledge and practical awareness, in line with its broader vision of preparing students for leadership and excellence in various sectors.
