The Delta State Civil Service Commission has received the official report of the promotion examination conducted for officers on Salary Grade Levels 5 to 10, in a move seen as part of ongoing efforts to deepen transparency, accountability and merit-based progression within the state workforce.
The submission was made by the Promotion Examination Consultants engaged by the Commission to oversee the exercise ahead of the July 1 promotion cycle.
Chairman of the consulting team, , while presenting the report, said it contained detailed assessments of candidates’ performance, observations recorded during the conduct of the examination, and recommendations designed to strengthen the integrity of future promotion processes.
Ofili, a former Head of Service, noted that the exercise was carried out strictly in line with approved civil service guidelines and standards, describing it as a credible and structured assessment of officers due for advancement.
He further emphasized that officers who failed to participate in the examination would be required to account for their absence, stressing the importance of discipline and compliance within the civil service system.
Receiving the report on behalf of the Commission Chairman, , the First Commissioner, , commended the consultants for what he described as a successful and professionally conducted exercise.
He assured that the report would undergo thorough review in accordance with established civil service procedures before final decisions on promotions are made.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a performance-driven public service where advancement is based on competence, discipline and verified merit.
Officials of the Civil Service Commission and representatives of the consulting team were present during the presentation session.
