The Federal Government, through the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), has commenced a ward-to-ward National Identification Number (NIN) registration exercise across Delta State.
The statewide exercise, which begins on Monday, February 16, 2026, will run until Monday, March 30, 2026, covering all 25 Local Government Areas of the state.
According to an official announcement, the registration is free of charge and open to all residents who have not yet enrolled for the NIN, including newborns, children, and adults.
Registration will take place daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at designated town halls in each ward.
Authorities say the initiative is aimed at expanding enrollment and ensuring that all residents obtain the National Identification Number, which is required for access to key services such as banking, telecommunications, government empowerment programmes, and travel documentation.
The Delta State Government has urged residents who have not previously registered to take advantage of the opportunity by visiting their respective ward registration centres within the stipulated period.
The announcement was issued by the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications in the Governor’s Office, Asaba.
