The President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs. Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu, has lauded leaders of various NAOWA chapters for their dedication, effective leadership, and commitment to advancing the Association’s vision through impactful programmes and sustainable projects.
Mrs. Safiyyah made the commendation while receiving the Coordinator of the NAOWA Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Minna Chapter, Mrs. Amina Peter Malla; the Acting Chairperson of the NAOWA 2 Division Chapter, Mrs. Blessing Mustapha; and the Chairperson of the NAOWA 81 Division Chapter, Mrs. Gloria Ebunoluwa Babalola, during courtesy visits to the NAOWA National Secretariat in Abuja.
Praising Mrs. Amina Peter Malla, the President highlighted the remarkable achievements of the TRADOC Minna Chapter, describing the ongoing construction of a new NAOWA Secretariat in Minna as a strategic project that will strengthen institutional continuity and administrative effectiveness. She also commended the enhanced welfare of teachers at the NAOWA School, Minna, noting salary increments and improved training programmes as key drivers for quality education. Additionally, Mrs. Safiyyah applauded the establishment of a Skills Acquisition Centre, aimed at empowering widows, wives of soldiers, and children through vocational training and self-reliance initiatives.
The President expressed gratitude to the Commander, TRADOC, Major General PP Malla, for his consistent support in realizing NAOWA’s programmes in Minna.
In a separate engagement, Mrs. Safiyyah commended Mrs. Blessing Mustapha for aligning the 2 Division Chapter’s initiatives with NAOWA’s core mandate of women empowerment, welfare, and support for widows and vulnerable members. She highlighted successful skills acquisition programmes and advocacy efforts, including activities marking the International Day of the Girl Child, urging the chapter to sustain people-centred projects that foster unity, compassion, and measurable impact.
While receiving Mrs. Gloria Ebunoluwa Babalola of the 81 Division Chapter, the President emphasized the importance of collaboration, adherence to national policies, and synergy between the National Executive Council and chapter leadership for effective implementation of welfare, empowerment, and capacity-building initiatives. She assured the visiting leaders of continued guidance and support from the National Executive Council, underscoring that collective effort and purposeful leadership are essential for realizing NAOWA’s objectives.
The visiting chapter leaders expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the NAOWA National Secretariat to advance the Association’s mission and improve the lives of military families across Nigeria.
