Asaba, Nigeria — The Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government Area in Delta State, Hon. Vincent Osilonya, has joined thousands of well-wishers across the state in celebrating the First Lady of Delta State, Her Excellency Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, describing her as a woman whose life and service continue to bring hope, warmth, and dignity to countless families.
Speaking on behalf of his wife, who is the Chairperson of Ndokwa East, Mrs Rita Ekos Osilonya and the people of Ndokwa East, the Council Chairman said the birthday of Deaconess Oborevwori is not only a personal milestone but also a moment to reflect on the compassion and humanity she has consistently demonstrated in public life.
According to him, Deaconess Oborevwori has gone beyond the ceremonial expectations of her office, choosing instead to remain close to the people, especially the poor and vulnerable. He noted that her work through the You Matter Charity Foundation has touched lives across communities, providing support, encouragement, and a renewed sense of belonging to those often left behind.
The Ndokwa East Council boss described the First Lady as “a mother in the truest sense,” saying her empathy, humility, and hands-on approach to humanitarian service have earned her deep respect across Delta State. He added that many families in rural and urban communities alike have felt her impact directly, whether through healthcare support, empowerment initiatives, or simple acts of kindness that restore hope.
He further stated that the people of Ndokwa East see her as a unifying figure whose kindness cuts across ethnic, political, and social lines, and whose values align strongly with the people-centred vision of the administration of her husband, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
As she marks her birthday, Hon. Osilonya conveyed the collective prayers of Ndokwa East for long life, sound health, and renewed strength, expressing confidence that her years ahead will be filled with even greater service and fulfillment.
“This celebration,” he said, “comes from the heart of Ndokwa East. We celebrate her not just because she is the First Lady, but because she has chosen to live for others.”
