The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has extended the deadline for applications for the 2025/2026 academic session to February 27, 2026, giving prospective applicants additional time to complete their submissions.
NELFUND said the extension, from the earlier January 31 deadline, is to ensure that all eligible students are able to submit the required information through the official online portal.
Reacting to the development, the Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, urged eligible Delta State students in higher institutions across the country to take advantage of the extended deadline and apply free of charge.
Applications are to be completed online via the NELFUND portal, where applicants can submit required details and track the status of their submissions.
The Delta State Government described the extension as a demonstration of the Federal Government’s commitment to expanding access to education and encouraged all eligible students to apply.
