The Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has been inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Fellow of the International Institute of Experts on Political Economy and Administration (IIEPEA), marking a significant international recognition for the Nigerian public servant.
The fellowship, awarded by IIEPEA—an internationally accredited institution with operations in Canada and Nigeria—is reserved for professionals who demonstrate exceptional academic depth, leadership capacity and long-standing contributions to public administration and governance.
According to the Institute’s Registrar, Prof Hephzibah Suobo, Dr Oghenesivbe completed an intensive 35-hour advanced programme in Administrative Management Strategy, designed to test participants’ analytical strength, problem-solving ability and capacity for high-level decision-making.
She said his elevation reflected more than two decades of professional engagement across political economy, law, public administration, governance advocacy and strategic communication, as well as his contributions to research and policy development in international affairs.
Reacting to the honour, Dr Oghenesivbe described the induction as “deeply humbling,” thanking the leadership of IIEPEA, including its Executive President, Prof Tunji John Asaolu, for the recognition. He pledged to uphold the Institute’s ethical standards and promote its values globally.
He also acknowledged the role of Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, saying the administration’s emphasis on capacity building had enabled him to grow professionally and serve more effectively in public office.
Dr Oghenesivbe, a lawyer and communication scholar, holds a professional doctorate in Strategic Communication and Information Management, alongside multiple postgraduate qualifications from the University of Lagos. He is currently completing a PhD in Mass Communication at Delta State University, Abraka.
A member of several international and Nigerian professional bodies, Dr Oghenesivbe’s induction places him among a select group of global experts recognised for advancing governance, policy and administrative excellence.
