1 Year in Office: Chief Osilonya Presents Scorecard in Thanksgiving

‎The need for political leaders to embark on people oriented legacy projects, was the crux of the message during the Presentation of Scorecard and Thanksgiving Service to mark the one year in office of Hon.  Vincent Osilonya-led administration in Ndokwa East Local Government.

‎The event with the theme: The Hand of God in Ndokwa East Local Government Area,  held at the premises of the Council Secretariat,  Aboh.

‎Dwelling on the topic,  “When the Hand of God is on a People”, the Chairman,  Delta State Pilgrims Welfare Board,  Snr. Apostle Sylvanus Okorote said the hand of God brings empowerment,  guidance,  favour,  unity and Peace,  adding that feats achieved by Chief Osilonya and his team in just one year in office,  was a clear indication that God had intervened in Ndokwa nation.

‎Reiterating his commitment to impacting more communities in the area, Chief Osilonya said his administration embarked on projects based on community needs assessment in line with the vision and mission statement  – Resetting Ndokwa East Local Government for More.

‎The Council Chairmen listed the completed and ongoing projects such as the construction of an ultra modern E-library at Shaka,  town hall at Ibrede and Oloa-Ossissa, administrative block annex/Council of Traditional Rulers Unit and chairman’s residence at Ashaka, reconstruction of 102 units of open stores at Umuosumili Ossissa  and Construction of 10 lock up stalls and 70 Units of Open stores in Utchi-Oboma.

‎Others are fencing of Oduga Primary School Ushie and Okpai Primary School Okpai, construction of 3 classroom blocks at Oloa-Ossissa, construction of Ushie Secondary School Science Lab and Hall,  Construction of toilets at Utchi-Oboma, construction of solar powered borehole with treatment plant in Aboh and construction of solar powered scheme at Onicha-utchi.

‎Also included are the reconstruction of bad portions of Aboh-Ashaka road with asphalt, reconstruction of Ashaka -Ushie road with concrete,  grading of earth roads,  purchase of official vehicles including five Sienna buses for security,  legislative bus,  official vehicle for Chairman,  Vice Chairman and leader of the house,  purchase of a motorcycle for livestock committee.

‎He stated more to include renovation and furnishing of the office of the chairman,  vice chairman, Secretary to the Local Government SLG, legislative chambers, acquisition of 40 plots of land and 8 plots for dump site, as well as the distribution of 37,000 exercise books to primary school pupils.

‎There were commendations from political stalwart, Chief Godwin Obielum, Member representing the area in the state House of Assembly, Hon.  Osamuta,  and his DESOPADEC counterpart,  the traditional ruler of Aboh kingdom,  the President General of Ndokwa Nekwu Union, Pioneer Chairman of the council,  Mr Tony Utti, first female Council Chairman in Delta North,  Hon.  Mary Chidi,  the NUT chairman,  Comrade Fatimah Ajusah, among others.

‎The event graced by an array of traditional rulers from various communities in the area,  clergymen and political leaders, featured thanksgiving session by the Chairman,  flanked by his wife Rita and well wishers,  presentation of vehicles purchased for security to the Police Command in Aboh and Ashaka divisions represented by the DPO’s, as well as special renditions and prayers for the local government,  state and nation.
