A scheduled Benin–Abuja flight was on Wednesday diverted to Lagos due to adverse weather conditions affecting operations in the Federal Capital Territory.
The airline confirmed that the decision was taken as a safety precaution after weather conditions made landing in Abuja unsafe at the time of arrival.
According to the carrier, all passengers on board were safely rerouted to Lagos without incident, in line with aviation safety protocols.
The airline, Air Peace apologised for the disruption, describing the diversion as an unavoidable safety measure prioritising passenger well-being.
In a statement, the airline said affected passengers have been contacted and arrangements are ongoing to ensure they continue their journeys once conditions improve in Abuja.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this situation may have caused and appreciate your patience and understanding. This decision was taken in the interest of your safety, which remains our highest priority,” the statement read.
The airline added that its customer service team is working closely with passengers to provide support and rescheduling options.
