The lawmaker representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Rep. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, has launched another round of youth and women empowerment training focused on cufflinks, stud and bead making.
The programme, organised in collaboration with the Project Development Institute (PRODA) and Hammdes Nigeria Limited, was flagged off on 10 February 2026 at the NULGE Hall in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The ceremony was performed on behalf of Rep. Ukodhiko by the Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro. He was represented at the event by his Special Adviser, Deacon Nathaniel Oromena Oki.
Speaking at the event, Okoro described the initiative as a timely intervention aimed at equipping young people and women with practical and marketable skills to enhance their socio-economic prospects.
He said that if properly utilised, the training could provide a sustainable source of self-employment for beneficiaries and contribute to the development of the local economy. He urged participants to take the programme seriously and not view it solely as an avenue to access the business support grants expected at the end of the training.
The empowerment programme featured hands-on sessions facilitated by Mr. Felix Abrakasa, Managing Director of Lebanon Resources and Youth Development on Craft, who trained participants in stud and cufflinks production.
Supervisors from PRODA, Enugu — Mr. Madubuike Paul and Mr. Ihedigbo Stanley — also addressed the trainees, commending their discipline and orderly conduct. They encouraged participants to fully embrace the newly acquired skills and draw inspiration from the experience shared by the resource person.
Rep. Ukodhiko has previously stated that skills acquisition and small-scale enterprise support form part of his legislative and constituency development priorities aimed at promoting self-reliance and economic inclusion in Isoko communities.
