The management of the Nigeria National League side Basira Football Club Lafia has granted its players and technical crew a one-month break after a successful 2024/2025 season.
Chairman of the Club Ahmed Usman Egye (PhD) disclosed the break to the club media officer, Ramalan Abubakar, after earlier giving directive to the technical crew.
He said the club had an incredible outing in its first participation in the NNL. Despite not making it to the Super-8 play-off, they retained their slot in the nation second tier league by finishing 4th position in the Northern Conference D of the NNL.
The Chairman expressed gratitude to the players and technical crew for their effort and commitment all through the season, praying for safety as they travel to meet their family and well wishers, where the period will avail each player a time to rest and prepare for the new season.
Mr Ahmed further thanked and appreciated football stakeholders, fans, and supporters from within and outside the state for the unwavering prayer and support throughout the season
The break will last for one month, with effect from 23rd May 2025. However, only the retained players will be welcomed back into the team.
