Bureau DG Hails Akpowowo’s Leadership in Ethiope East

Asaba, Delta State — The Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has commended the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Arthur Akpowowo, JP, for what he described as effective, people-centred representation of the Ethiope East State Constituency.

Dr. Oghenesivbe gave the commendation in a goodwill message marking the birthday anniversary of the Deputy Speaker, praising his pragmatic leadership style and legislative performance since assuming office on May 29, 2023.

He described Rt. Hon. Akpowowo as a legal icon, consummate leader and resourceful lawmaker, noting that his legislative competence and constituency-focused interventions have translated into tangible benefits for the people. According to the Bureau DG, the Deputy Speaker has initiated and executed impactful empowerment programmes and constituency projects that have significantly improved living standards across Ethiope East.

Dr. Oghenesivbe said the scale and consistency of these achievements have set a benchmark and established a legacy that would be difficult to surpass even beyond the end of Akpowowo’s tenure in 2031.

He further disclosed that the people of Ethiope East have expressed satisfaction with the quality of representation, a development that recently culminated in the full-scale endorsement of the Deputy Speaker for a second term in 2027by the APC College of Leaders, party stakeholders, women and youth groups across the constituency.

The Bureau DG also noted that Rt. Hon. Akpowowo remains firmly committed to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, consistently articulating federal and state government policies to his constituents to enhance public understanding of their development efforts.

Describing Akpowowo as a strong ambassador of the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda, Dr. Oghenesivbe said the Deputy Speaker, as the highest elected office holder in Ethiope East under the Oborevwori administration, has worked assiduously to unite party leaders and stakeholders, strengthen party structures across the 11 wards, and position the party for overwhelming victory in the 2027 general elections.

He urged the Deputy Speaker to sustain his trademark humility, resilience, open-door policy and equitable distribution of democratic dividends, while praying for his continued good health, wisdom, longevity and divine grace in the years ahead.
