The Delta State Government has called on eligible youths from the state to apply for the Nigerian Army’s 91 Regular Recruits Intake (RRI) for non-tradesmen and tradesmen/women.
In a special announcement issued by the State Awareness Creation Committee on Youth Enlistment in Military and Paramilitary Services, officials encouraged qualified candidates to take advantage of the opportunity, describing military service as a pathway to stable employment and national service.
According to the statement, the online application process opened on 30 March 2026 and will close on 17 May 2026.
Applicants are required to register via the Nigerian Army’s official recruitment portal.
The government outlined several requirements for prospective applicants. Candidates must be Nigerian citizens by birth, single, and in possession of a National Identity Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
They must also meet medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards set by the Nigerian Army and must not have any criminal record.
In addition, applicants are required to present a valid birth certificate or age declaration, as well as a certificate of state of origin.
Minimum height requirements are 1.68 metres for men and 1.65 metres for women.
For non-trades applicants, the age limit is between 18 and 22 years, while tradesmen and women must not be older than 26 years as of 30 December 2026.
Educationally, candidates must have at least four credit passes, including English Language, in not more than two sittings in examinations such as WASCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS. Trades applicants are also required to possess relevant trade certifications.
The Delta State Government said the recruitment drive aligns with its broader job creation and youth empowerment strategy under the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Authorities also assured applicants of support through designated help desk lines to address any challenges encountered during the application process.
Officials urged interested candidates not to delay their applications, emphasizing the competitive nature of the recruitment exercise.
